Men's Shirt Sew Along

I've been wanting to make this shirt for my husband for a little bit and now I have the perfect excuse. A shirt sew along, which will be very helpful to me since I've never sewn a mans shirt before. I'm off to buy the pattern and figure out fabric. I'm thinking something flannel because with the frigid temperatures and high winds we've been experiencing around here keeping warm is constantly on my mind!

Dress

Some further procrastination by way of dresses. Can I just say for the millionth time how much I love the Weekend Sewing book. I LOVE IT! It's nice and easy and simple steps, just up my alley. I made these dresses for the girls and they turned out great. In the book it only goes up to a size four and so for my oldest, who is a size six, I just added some to the bodice and left the skirt part the same and so it has a little less gathering. Now if it would only stop raining we could get into summer full swing!

Shorts

I've been trying to will spring to come out and play by making shorts for my son. Unfortunately, it chose to snow instead. I copied a pair of other shorts he had for the pattern and after making them too big, cutting them down, having them be too small and starting all over I finally got them right. I think they're pretty cute even if they're a bit long, but at least they're not falling off his waist. I think I finally have the pattern down right so maybe the more shorts I make the nicer the weather will be. I can dream right?
